5.Chromotherapy
"Art completes what nature cannot finish; art carries out nature's unrealized ends."—Aristotle.
Like sound, color can augment existence beyond the basic consummations of hearing and sight. My purpose in writing this chapter is to display these connections. The concepts expressed will further advance your understanding of what has already been disclosed. Again as we progress, our objective is to help you see how this all tie-ins to body art as both a culture and a craft. Permanently marking the human body is one of the most shamanic experiences on Earth. It's also the seed for modifications beyond our wildest dreams. I'm opening up this three-book series with a very primitive means of biological enrichment. Before the advent of modern technology, betterments were mainly a result of maneuvering each other's senses through a combination of rocks, herbs, and potions. We have continued this behavior on a much grander scale, thanks to dedicated students sacrificing their time to receive a proper education and build upon what we already know.
We may chuckle at some of our ancestor's tactics, but little do we know that we're actually on the same path. The scientists of today will most likely be called barbaric alchemists in the future, so discounting any generation of wizardry would be foolish. I'm not one to say "out with the old and in with the new"; instead, I wish to connect the traditional with the contemporary. I'm not a hoarder either; one of the best reasons for new blood is the opposition new ideas pose to older ones that no longer gel with the changes over time. This statement threatens the pursuit of limitless life extension while raising concern about how far we're willing to go. Sound and color are simply precursors. Like sound, colors are all but wavelengths of electromagnetic energy; the main difference—color is visually processed through our eyes and the eye's correspondences. When sunlight beams through a prism, it emits seven independent colors. This is known as the color spectrum: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. The word color, derived from the Latin root cellar, means to cover or hide. These colors can be seen in every aspect of nature. They have a deep symbolic meaning hardwired into our mainframes.
German biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp said, "All living organisms emit certain electromagnetic waves. If they are in healthy condition, they emit more. If not, they emit less. This electromagnetic emission is called biophotons." Although not all walks of life share the same interpretations of each color, I feel like I democratically applied our collective understanding in a "majority rules" fashion. Again, you can apply majority rules to anything we put in this book. Using consensus helps nail down the most prevalent dimension or the closest thing to the truth. There's a whole chapter on this topic later, but let me preface it by saying factual evidence may hold strong in one dimension while falling through in another. Regardless of which reality you find yourself in, people are treating specific organs and illnesses with phototherapy. You don't even have to be a trained healer to charge the endocrine and lymphatic system and promote better bodily functions in your friends and family. Some of our best hospitals have machines that do just that. I've even seen people marketing handheld versions on TV at three in the morning. The undesired matter gets flushed from the body this way. Colors affect our perception for sure. They're an excellent catalyst for setting up a particular mood. By becoming conscious of the colors we choose to use or avoid, we understand better what we stand for. These intuitive, subconscious decisions help us find our true nature.
Colors shed light on our personality once we discipline ourselves to observe how they affect our feelings. From a purely scientific standpoint, the energetic absence of any color makes its pigment visible to us. There is a provocative lesson to be learned in that last sentence. Our consciousness begins to form a relationship based on what many believe is the eye's physiological response to specific colors. That's red, green, and blue light. Worldwide tests now confirm four pure colors are beginning to enter our primal responsive perception. That fourth color is yellow. We try to stick to these four colors during treatment. When our bodies are healthy, the body should filter out colors from light as needed. From an energetic perspective, we know that when all colors join, the result is white light—not paint or crayons—we're talking about light. If you mix red, yellow, and blue (the three primary colors), brown would result. Red, yellow, and blue is three primary colors in art. In light, however, the three primary colors are red, blue, and green, which are the colors mentioned above.
I don't mean to confuse you, but I must make these distinctions for accuracy. White lightens any one of those hues. White, in general, symbolizes the union of all complementary parts. While training as an energy healer, I was taught to direct white light rays into the recipient's body. Sometimes that's not enough, and an external source is required to intensify these healing wavelengths. The practices described in these books can be an excellent resource for you. Virtually all advanced cultures used the principles of color therapy to build temples of health. When individuals entered, they were infused with light reflected through various colored glass panels or windows.
In healing, colors act as balancers: we administer the color(s) someone needs more of, or we give the opposite of the color to which someone has been excessively exposed. To appreciate this knowledge, you must understand that the color we see is part of the visible spectrum reflected by any given object. Chromotherapy is based on the visions of clairvoyants and children under seven years old. The actual colors of our etheric energetic body are determined by the same principles of color therapy, as I pointed out before. It's like a transparent balloon in the shape of our body, packed with colored clouds that move fluidly. I have even heard every color has a sound. That's a little more advanced, though. The following is a brief description of what these colors have the potential to do. I repeat the potential. It's about what signals we tune ourselves into. There are many techniques associated with what's about to be brought up. Discussing them is irrelevant to their application in body art, so I didn't include them. You tattooers shouldn't have difficulty applying this information to your artwork. Piercers should now be a little more selective about what color body jewelry is used and where it's put.
BLUE is a very, very primal color. Blue is all about communication. It is one of my personal favorites. If you thought green was holistic, you'd jive with blue. It's our planet's natural antiseptic. It cools a fever and can aid in weight gain. If you're experiencing any inflammation, whip out some blue. A fundamental truth that replicates itself on countless levels is that blue (from a harmonic standpoint) is more potent than red. This rudimentary understanding can teach us so much. Blue wards off angry energies and prevents you from falling off the deep end. Blue corresponds to water and air. Deities of the ocean and truth rock this color. Blue is also closely related to astral projection. It's calm and soothing. The visible blue light has a wavelength of about 475 nm.
Note: Some of you may ask yourself which deities are referenced here. Usually, when we refer to the gods, they're classified under a particular pantheon. I should clear this up now so that as you read about these colors, you're not faced with the same lingering question. As I discuss in the chapter titled "You Can't Kill What Won't Die," these beings go by many names. One corner of the world may refer to a god by one name, while another region calls them by another. Often these entities reincarnate into other bodies hundreds, or even thousands, of years after their death. This is why I don't bother naming names here. It stands to reason that calling them out by what they stood for is a more effective way to relay the information. Furthermore, not every color corresponds to a specific god, so if you're looking for consistency, you won't find it in this chapter.
ORANGE relieves muscle cramps and spasms like magic. Orange increases the activity of the thyroid and stimulates the lungs, respiration, and digestion. It has a non-constricting way about it. You feel instant relief from any tensions built up. Physically, oranges are good for relieving depression and cramping anywhere in the body; it's a relaxant that helps with sclerosis and heart disease. It boosts the immune system, helps circulation, and raises blood pressure. It cleans and purifies the hormonal system. It's like taking a shot of freedom for the mind, body, and spirit. The deities of good luck and fortune rock this color. Orange can stimulate creativity and predispose you to think outside of the box regarding lifestyle design. Orange is all business; from success in legal matters to investments, this is the color you want to have around. It is also the color of kindness and celebration. It's the kind of color that radiates encouragement and optimism. It's sociable. Bright yellows and oranges have made recovering patients more cheerful. These colors significantly speed the patient's recovery because they increase the patient's own desire to get better. The visible orange light has a wavelength of about 590 nm.
YELLOW is used mainly to execute problematic intestines, liver, and stomach conditions. It is also an excellent color for nervous or nerve-related diseases or ailments (dark yellow). The energy generated exclusively by yellow speeds up digestion and everything that goes along with that. Yellow increases neuromuscular tone. It helps the skin's pores and helps scarred tissue heal itself. Physically, yellow can combat fear, improve digestion, and help the stomach, gallbladder, liver, and immune system. Yellow also fortifies the endocrine and nervous systems. It lifts depressed and sad people. Yellow helps strengthen the mind and awaken mental inspiration. It can also be used in treating clairvoyant-related ailments and issues. The deities for travel, knowledge, and magic rock this color. Yellow is associated with air and vital force. Yellow is an excellent tool in the learning process and enables you to memorize much more. It's also the color for affirmations and visualizations. Change, communication, and trade are yellow. Yellow has a wavelength of 589 nm.
GREEN tends to level all things out. Green is the multipurpose color. It can be used for just about any kind of healing. There is a close relationship between hormones and green. It helps with swelling or growths, eye problems, bronchitis, gout, diabetes, cysts, tumors, and weakened bones. It is an anti-inflammatory that helps with painful joints and allergies.
Dark green relates to the Earth, and blue green refers to water. Green is the color of prosperity, peace, and harvest. Green helps with trust and relaxation. Furthermore, green has been said to increase bone and muscle integrity while strengthening the nervous system. Neon green amplifies such effects. The visible green light has a wavelength of about 510 nm.
RED is the perfect color to work with when treating matters of the heart, both physical and emotional. Red brings warmth to the recipient. It's set to the frequency of love. In short, it helps the soul travel from the brain, down through the throat, and into the heart. It's a great color to bring around the common cold. Don't ever treat a cancerous disease with red; this color will increase cell growth. It is, however, excellent for blood circulation. Introverted people can predispose themselves to a more balanced lifestyle using red. Red is an aphrodisiac to the fullest, so play with that. Red energizes all organs and heightens the senses. Red also stimulates ovulation and menstruation. It enables our adrenal glands to release adrenaline. This, when applied correctly, can result in jolts of superhuman strength. Controlled studies have shown that red causes hemoglobin to multiply and thus increases energy and raises body temperature. This establishes an excellent element for healing blood-related conditions. The deities of sexuality and war rock this color. Red brings about a profound sense of courage and determination. It's been associated with competition and conflicts but, most of all, with potency, fertility, passion, and love. Red suggests survival and excitement. It's primal and stimulating.
The visible red light has a wavelength of about 650 nm.
INDIGO is also an excellent color for detoxifying the bloodstream. Indigo takes on many characteristics of his parents, blue and red. It's mainly used in the treatment of the eyes and ears. It stimulates the pineal gland in a very sacramental way. I hope, through this series, I make it possible for you to understand the importance of this pinecone-shaped protrusion known as the pineal gland. This is another symbol used in clothing and architecture, from the popes' staff to the castle's pillars. I'll get into this more in the next book, but as far as indigo, this color has been said to function like a stargate into a hidden realm where all is unveiled. When tuned into properly, meditators claim to access the Akashic records (cosmic library). Indigo is also the color of the warrior spirit's aura. In other words, those who came here to tear down old systems and reconstruct new ones emanate indigo throughout their energy bodies. The visible indigo light has a wavelength of about 445 nm. (This is the last color I give wavelengths for at this time I hope to update this volume once more data is crunched)
PURPLE dissolves polarities. Physically, it helps treat menopause, improves the spleen, and acts as an anti-viral agent. Jesus Christ wore a lot of purples, according to scripture. All priest-kings sport this color. The color purple has been associated with royalty. In ancient Greece, only the wealthy were allowed to wear clothes containing them. Because it's so close to indigo, most information on purple has been expressed as indigo.
Purple and indigo are also interchangeable with violet.
WHITE, as light, is the color of universal consciousness. White is known for what it reveals. White provides energy and balances the chronobiological rhythm by stimulating the production of serotonin. White also raises the vibration of all who work with it. White is the color of light, the substance of things wanted, and the proof of things not understood. White signifies two things: energy and its manifestation in physical form. White light and matter have a parent-child relationship. Our one true soul is made of pure, white light. As I said, white contains all colors. Period. "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."—John, 1:5.
MAGENTA will bring you closer to your life's purpose. It can also give you a nice jolt of energy. Magenta works hand in hand with the law of attraction, enabling those who work with it to manifest things much faster. It broadcasts connectedness. Clouds of magenta hang out about twelve feet above your brain when you are in what those in the East call dharma (or going down the right path).
PINK is like the fountain of youth when it comes to colors. It's a vibrant color. It's an excellent color to have around if your heart is broken. This color tends to bring out human beings' kind, soft side. In truth, it's hard for humans that crack; I find the softer I am, the more I can endure.
TURQUOISE is a natural stress reliever. Skin is pleased to have this ray injected into it. Turquoise is all about tranquility, stimulating the thymus center while regulating the lung/large intestine systems. Turquoise will also bring about intellectual insights, enhance a strong sense of brotherhood, and help the formation of bonds between one another. Like its uncle, blue turquoise has powerful disinfecting properties.
BROWN is associated with concentration. An earth color, brown, can be used in many things, from finding lost possessions to constructing buildings. It can also be used to protect the land you call home. It's also an excellent hue to get you out of a financial bind.
GRAY is the rogue energy. When utilized correctly, you can interject gray into a situation and erase it from existence. You can pause a situation, as well. Gray neutralizes negative energy and balances everything out. Those in control utilize this color to manipulate the shit out of us, by the way. Hence the term "gray areas." This word is synonymous with "loopholes'' and exploiting such loopholes that we are robbed of our fair share if you will. Like everything else, it can also be used for the betterment of society, so please don't read this with bad feelings toward Gray. In many cases, it's a perfect thing to find the clause in a contract.
BLACK is the color of ultimate power. Deities of the underworld rock black. Black can be used to banish evil energies/entities and open you up to unmask profound aspects of your subconscious mind. It's the color of mystery and secrecy. It is the color of nothingness. We know the spirit made that initial move through the void; we were in darkness before that spark. Black has the most potent capacity for photon absorption, which we can express in a million different ways. The other colors wouldn't have power if black weren't in the mix. "They wouldn't exist—like Luke without Vader."—Jack Frost.
Gold is a lavish color. GOLD resonates with the elite; it beams authority, confidence, and perfection. It attracts the solar male energies, which have universal dominion. When chased with black, this mixture can curb addictive behavior. Financial prosperity surrounds those who channel gold's properties from a good place.
SILVER is all lunar and female, but don't get it twisted; this fierce color is heavily into clairvoyance. It's also the primary color associated with reincarnation. Use it to stabilize hormones in the body, especially during childbirth. Those familiar with Eastern mythology may know that the male/solar/gold and female/ silver/lunar associations friendly to the West are reversed in Eastern lore, especially in Tantric literature.
COPPER/BRONZE is the color of relationships. It cultivates alliances. It's the teamwork color and radiates togetherness, unity, and compassion.
