1.Chakras, Meridians, and Nadis

Chakras—meaning disc in Sanskrit—are sacred outlets on an energetic perpendicular axis that run up the spine, from the perineum to the top of the head. The chakras permeate from within the physical body and then flow throughout the layers of existence. They do this in an ever-increasing, cone-shaped, flowerlike fan formation. On the exterior, their individuality lies in the specific number of petals, symbols, and colors. Many Western doctors would agree that the central energy channel of the human body is the spinal column. Many exercises are involved in manufacturing and replenishing these vortexes to attract the energy flowing through this channel. Many people believe that chakra philosophy stems from traditional Chinese medicine—when, in fact, the concept of these holy vortexes has been traced back over five thousand years to Ayurvedic texts. Religions and philosophies that deal with chakras include but are not limited to Buddhism, Islamic mysticism, Hinduism, Hermeticism, Neo-Platonism, Hebrew Kabbalah, Theosophy, and Rosicrucianism. I'm sure I've left some out, but the point is that the existence and effectiveness of the chakras have been documented; in fact, a key fundamental of the Ascended Master Teachings revolves around the knowledge of our chakras. Parallels have been made between the Eastern Orthodox Church's centers of prayer and the position of the chakras.

You can see an application of our energy systems in the wardrobe of the upper echelon of civilizations, past and present. For example, the names headdress of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs—such as the pleated blue-and-gold-striped cloth famously seen on the funeral mask of Tutankhamen—was embellished with a uraeus, an image of a sacred cobra whose body extended from where the spine met the base of the skull, up toward the forehead of the king, linking the root of energy (the spine) with both the crown chakra and the third eye chakra. George Washington's Masonic regalia had traces of these insights as well. For example, over his solar plexus, he has the golden talisman of the sun under a square and compass. On his sacral chakra, he wore an apron that garnished a small triangle inside a blue ball between two flags: one is all white, the other containing the red, white, and blue of the stars and stripes. You will understand the significance of what I'm saying more as we continue to move forward. We've adopted several things from those ancient kings of Egypt. Murmurs of them being unearthly have been a consistent buzz amongst conspiracy theorists for decades. Coincidentally, Washington's memorial shares the same look as the Egyptian lighthouse in Alexandria. It's clear that many of today's world leader's clothes and jewelry mimic our subtle energy system; some wield their influence without even understanding it; they're just doing what they're told.

Regarding the Egyptian sun god Ra, obelisks are found on the lawns of many government buildings, educational facilities, and religious institutions. The "All-Seeing Eye" has been synonymous with our globally-minded "big brother." We've managed to integrate many features of ancient Egyptian culture into the blood and guts of America.

There are seven major, twenty-one minor, and seven hundred mini chakras, each with its associations and correspondences. For novices, an ideal location for getting marked is over each significant point. However, many factors, such as your age, sex, location, time of day, karma, and presupposition, affect the degree of improvement, so you shouldn't assume that going through a substitute point will decrease the quality of results. This system is a groundbreaking conduit (Conduit—1300s; its roots are in the Medieval Latin word conductus; a passage into another stage; a harbinger or translator of something bigger than itself.) of Chi manifestation and distribution. Again, chakras originate from Ayurvedic texts, which would not have used the Chinese word "Chi" (or "Qi") to describe the energy. We'll use the Chinese term due to its familiarity. I will attempt to break it down briefly; in easy-to-understand terminology. Alternative healthcare clinicians refer to the locations of the chakras as "microfibril bundles of connective tissue" that align closely with the body's endocrine glands and lymphatic system by feeding on the good stuff and getting rid of the bad. While knowing this is great, please understand that most of your attention needs to be on the psyche and spirit— mainly because the complete visualization and experiential element amplify the intensity level of these physical structures. Without this stimulation, the holistic (Holistic—1920s; its roots are in the word holism, which means to be fixated on the whole, rather than the sum of its parts.) properties remain dormant.

The structure and function vary from chakra to chakra, but, generally, they resemble fuel funnels, whose smaller end is plugged into our physical bodies with the highest concentration of electromagnetic force running down inside our centers and getting infinitely larger as they penetrate our other more subtle bodies. I found it interesting that Native Americans developed a multifaceted conceptualization of magnetism flowing between animal and man in recurrent paths to our chakras. If you're like me and righteously cut corners, our line of quantumly charged body jewelry, the microdermals, is a great way to crash the gate. Dave Hamilton's synthetic chakras have been endorsed by many people I know and respect. I have yet to try them out for myself, though.

All kinds of things are involved while diagnosing and treating these focal points: age, sex, and even their whereabouts. Regardless of any of that, chakras serve three primary functions: (1) to balance and harmonize the physical, etheric, and emotional bodies and (2) to develop our self-consciousness as it intertwines into one consciousness the further away from our centers it goes, and (3) to synthesize life-force energy to bring the individual into a state of complete spiritual health and well-being. These sacred outlets are measured as spots on the body's skin that display lower electric magnetic resistance to the surrounding area; in detail, clairvoyants have been talking about this for thousands of years. These people—and even those without physical abilities who stay true to genuine bodywork—can feel when these points require attention. They usually feel tender when touched and hot or cold when your hands hover over them.

Much debate exists about the physical aspects of the major chakras, whether or not they are found on the anterior or posterior of your body, and if they are designed in polarity or possess two sides. In addition, the relationship our planets share with them presents another point of concentration. Understand that every conveyed message depends mercifully on its messenger, so, arguably, everything you've heard, seen, or read is based not only on your interpretation but also on the interpretation of the person who transmitted that information along with their source for it. That also includes the person transferring the data before them and so on. Our curriculum employs only material that seems to appear in all or most of the Earth's cultures I've enjoyed studying. This is our way of keeping material unclouded. As the old saying goes, if ten people tell you the kitchen is on fire, it's safe to say that your kitchen's on fire. We also consider that things look and feel different depending on which density you choose to navigate through.

Listen, as spiritual people; we can't allow ourselves to dominate—even if it comes from a good place. After all, we are individuals with unique interpretations of what we see around us. We must keep it accurate and understand that studying the chakras is a lifelong pursuit over which no one can ever hope to have a monopoly on its offerings of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. My work is based on the results from a composite of information I've experienced firsthand and from documents passed down by trained individuals who understand these mystical systems. In other words, I'm trying to be as accurate as possible. One thing is sure: these outlets represent a link to everything that enables us to address the etiology of any disease or illness on every level of existence. Scientists observing bio-fields produced by an energy worker's hand recorded a pulsed signal of a capricious frequency drifting from 0.3 to 30 Hz, with most of the exertion in the range of 7 to 8 Hz. The emitted signal is not harmonious; instead, it dips in and out of a gamut of frequencies. This behavior is akin to the low-frequency pulses produced by some pieces of medical gear used for soft tissue regeneration. The thing is that only the people who intended to heal were able to make such bio-magnetic pulses. You see, many doctors and therapists treat mechanical conditions without necessarily thinking about whether the part of the body being treated has any connection to an energy pathway. Work like this is the future of healthcare.

It is our past coming full circle.

Another core principle of the chakras is embedded within the 7.23 cm wavelength. This is the distance between our eyes from one center of the pupil to the other. That's collective, of course. The 7.23 cm wavelength is within the tip of our chins to the ends of our noses, across our palms, and—you guessed it—according to some circles, it is also the horizontal distance between the chakras. Another critical element in chakra knowledge is our Chi warehouse, the dantian, composed of the two Chinese symbols, dan, and tian. Dan means medicine, and while tian translates to field, in this context, it means warehouse. It's being called the void as well. Do not confuse this with the base or solar plexus chakra. It's more like our body's capacitor if you want to compare humans to tattoo machines. It is important to note that the more I have to heal through a sub-chakra, the smaller the channel becomes.

That hardly means it will work less, as intention, expectation, karma, and other factors, from both the giver and receiver, play just as vital a role. Those who understand can quickly see how treatment kicks the shit out of chakra congestion. Congestion occurs when not enough subtle forces flow through the body. These techniques balance the overstimulation that results when we try to disperse the flow of energy outward at excessively high rates. You'll find that this work rids our bodies of any rubbernecking. I use this term to describe when two or more associated chakras have discrepancies. Usually caused by abrupt life changes, one will dominate the other, leaving one moving too fast and the other too slow. This then affects all the characteristics associated with both of them. This is a significant source of strife here on Earth. Test my conclusions in controlled settings. Opening your mind is crucial, but having pacification and charity in your heart is essential. Get ready for a realignment of the psyche.

Some conclude that chakras form when twenty-one nadi cross each other. Nadi, which means river, uses these nerve-like channels to commute around our bodies. When they converge, sizable vortices result. The minor ones develop when fourteen intersect. These Nadi seem linked to cerebrospinal fluid, the endocrine glands, and the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Depending on the reference, different interpretations may result. This, however, applies to virtually everything in life, and I can't stress that enough. However, one thing is solid: our upright, energetic axis, kundalini, is a source of raw, feminine life-force energy. As Shri Mataji says, "You become your guru—your spiritual guide—since you can feel at your fingertips all your subtle problems and have the power to cure them using your own Kundalini." It has been helping us internalize matters from the beginning.

Soon after the Vedic notion of chakras was in circulation, the Chinese extended the system by discovering the meridian matrix. The meridian system is the basis for many holistic modalities, like reflexology and acupuncture. So the chakras are the points from which the life-force energy circulates through our meridian system springs. As our chakras relate to glands in our body, meridians correspond to organs—twelve to be exact. They include the bladder, stomach, small and large intestines, kidneys, liver, spleen, "triple burner," heart, lungs, pericardium, and gallbladder. OK, so you're probably keen to know why this was important as far as the rest of the book is concerned:

It will help the body artist and client have a heightened awareness and appreciation of marking the human body. This sensitivity will increase as you continue to read and absorb more of the curriculum.

It will help you understand the interrelationships we share with everything in the universe.

It will show you how our species is no stranger to tweaking our existence.

Each chapter builds on the next. Let's take it to light now; we have much more ground to trek. A primary goal for humans should be to elicit this hidden reservoir of nature's fuel. Don't rush into this, kids. Ask your mind, body, and soul to guide you through the exercises and meditations. You don't want more energy than you can handle running through you; that can be bad. Bad. This has led many holistic practitioners and martial artists to take their own lives. So please try to understand yourself and find the levels of life force that your "house" can support. In time you'll build extensions to facilitate more power. It's a matter of desire. This is the platform of not only Dynamic Body Art Therapy but also the recipe Daoic, Pagan, Abrahamic, and Dharmic healers have been using for centuries. The most underrated of them is Reiki's creator, Mikao Usui. This man is one of my role models. He is, no doubt, one of history's hidden master teachers. Do look into him.
